Istanbul has a good metro, tram and ferry network. Buy an Istanbulkart for all public transport. Taxis are cheap but always use the meter.
Remove shoes, cover head (women) and shoulders/knees (all). The Blue Mosque is closed to tourists during prayer times (5 times daily).
Turkey is excellent value — the lira has weakened significantly. Budget ₹3,000–5,000/day. Always carry cash for bazaars and street food.
